[update 2006-05-24, I have moved from WordPress to Umbraco]
Well, it should happen - my own blog on the big world wide web.
Content on this blog will be about?
The plan is to make some articles/posts regarding JSON, Umbraco, ASP.NET and other technical stuff of my interest.
How often will you blog?
Let's see, it will properly be from every day to one post a month. Some where in the middle, now I haven't promised to much :-)
WordPress (the blog engine I use) - Why?
Well everbody else doing it! - Not an excuse enough?
My host http://www.needhost.dk/ is not offering a MS SQL yet, so I could't use Umbraco. (MS SQL Express expected in near feuture)
Moveable Type seems to difiquelt to setup, and I could find any other matching my critiers
- mySql as database
- Friendly url's
- Free of cost
- Nice default template (Kubrick's template is nice looking) but possible to change the layout of the blog
- RSS feeds, comments, categoris etc.
- Well tested and used
WordPress setup on www.needhost.dk
I have a "Gold" account that means 2 websites (unix and windows) then I can run blog.cpalm.dk on a unix (PHP and mySql) and / on a windows (asp.net) and there fore run umbraco in the futare.
Actuelly blog.cpalm.dk are pointing to a sub directory (www2.cpalm.dk/blog) on the main PHP website www2.cpalm.dk
This is actualy rather cool becouse then I can test diferent kind of PHP stuff like forums, cm systems (cms) etc.
The friendly url's are becouse of the Apache (webserver) module mod_rewrite and WordPress are using it.
How many times do you mention the word Blog in this post?
Around 7!? - havent counted
Time Robber
This blog should not be a complete time robber - there fore this post is sentenced to death right now!
